Women on Water
Our Women on Water Group (WoW) meet regularly to combine sail coaching with social activities. The group is a very friendly and informal group of female club members - primarily sailors - but we also welcome paddle boarders and kayakers. We meet once a month from February to November for a day of fun and instruction on the water.
We aim to be ready to go on the water at 10am and are usually finished by 4pm, all dependent on the weather. If you want to advance your skills, we can arrange for a qualified instructor to coach individuals or groups. Most have their own boats, but this is not a requirement as we have use of club boats (subject to availability). The group is for people who are confident to sail on their own. We recommend complete beginners to complete a RYA Level One and Level Two course prior to sailing with the group, or attend the beginners Saturday sessions, to build the necessary basic sailing skills.
Membership to the group is only £20 per year and can be purchased through your membership account. There is currently no additional charge for the sessions or for the use of club boats during these sessions (subject to availability). Joining the group is a great way to get on the water with a group of like-minded people and get instruction / pointers as required.
This really helps encourage members to grow in sailing confidence and improve their sailing ability, whatever their level.
